Master test kit

Can anyone recomend a good master test kit. I would like it to have more than just the basics. I am really concerned about my water hardness. I have plants and plan on diy co2 in the near future thanks. Also does anyone have a reverse osmosis unit? Are they worth the money?

API liquid test kits are decent. I have read that RO isn't really necessary for freshwater tanks. Unless you have really bad tap water.

I second the recommendation for API's test kit. They have one that measures Kh and Gh.
