Mating firemouth tankmates?

Hey, i have a 29 gallon aquarium with a pair of firemouths that have free swimming fry. The male is about 6 inches and the female is about 3-4 inches. I have a lot of yelllow algea and is making it look messy and was wondering if its okay to put a 4 inch plecostemus in with them?

depends what species of pleco.

you would probably be better off scraping the algea in the tank anyway. with fry in the tank, its best to have as little extra bioload as possible.

You could put a dwarf pleco in there due to the tank size, I recommend a bigger tank. I have 2 pairs of spawning FireMouths right now in my 55g with a common pleco. The pleco actually holds his own with them.
