I am looking for advice on how often to do a water change when my tank is in the maturation phase. This is my first salt water tank (190L) and i'm about a week and a half in. Have plenty of live rock. Nitrates, nitrite and ammonia starting to be detected.

Have read 10% water change weekly is great for maintenance but can't find any info on how frequently it should be done at this stage. Any advice would be much appreciated

Cheers

Don't do any water changes until the tank is finished cycling. Once the ammonia and nitrite levels have fallen to zero you can begin slowly adding livestock and undertake normal maintenance, including regular water changes.

i would recomend doing a 10% water change every week for 190l..With bigger tanks, you can get away with doing a water change every 2 weeks ( 15 - 20% )...

NO water changes to be done while its cycling..And, as stated above, start you maintenance routine when you start stocking...And remember, start off stocking slowly to allow the good bacteria time to get accustomed to new bio-load...
