I had an ornate bicher that happily chowed down several thumb-size juvie S. eupterus (aka featherfins.) I thought the spines would protect them, but I saw one go down tail-first, squeaking all the way, like it was calling for help. I learned never to trust a bicher with ANY fish small enough to fit into its mouth. Leleupi have the same slender shape as Cyp's, making them easy to swallow. I'd really recommend swapping off the bicher if you want to keep Tang's, most of the fish that will fit in a 90 will fit in the bicher too.

Since the 3 Alto gold comps are doing well and growing, I'm going to get more altolamps ordered today (Dark Reds and Oranges) as at least there has been a demonstration that the bichir leaves them alone. I will also add to the rockwork to get more height and more interlacing with the holey.
Daves also has several large (2.5-3 inch) dwarf petricolas that I suspect will be safe. Won't be a huge financial investment but I'm trying to stack the odds in the new fishes' favor.

what are those big sea egg lookin thingies?? they look really cool. do the shellies live in them???
Barnacle shell clusters, and yes the fish do live in them. The females prefer the turbo shells for spawning, and the small fry stay low, but the larger juvies and adults are quite happy to use them. It's also easier to get fish out of them, or at the very least you can see whether the shells are empty when you move them for cleaning.
Yep barnacle clusters are my next step in shellie decor i have been wanting to get these for a while but i really don't like the color of them if i could find them in solid white..
