Max Tang stocking frustration

I have seen them on cichlidbreeding.com at an affordable price..

Todd, yeah i have seen them there as well on ebay..

Hey afro man i did something pretty stupid last night, ok so i had the 55gal with the brevis and multis well i didnt have any place to put my lithobates so i placed them in this tank for a holding tank til i could clear some room up..

So i went to relocate the multis in the 20gal long and i am selling my brevis to a friend and then i am going to place the saulosi in the 55gal with the lithobates for a 55gal malawi setup..

So here is the stupid part i took all of the shells out and rocks to catch the multis and brevis and when i went to the 20gal long to retrieve the saulosi i came back to see the lithobates destroying my colony of multis man they wiped out a crap load of fry and smaller juvies..

I was only in the other room getting the saulosi out for like 20 min. i was able to pull the rest out while they were still in attack mode man that was crazy they were going after the multis in the net when i was dipping them out..

But the good part is i was able to save the adults and some of the juvies so now i have a total of 11 adults and juvies maybe a few fry will emerge from the shells i took out as well..

But we are still on but i may just give you the bigger juvies..

The few remaining Tang's in the 55 are now sharing their living space with 10 juvie Victorian Hap's. The single surviving multi went into the 10 gallon with the Endler's a while back, looks like the new arrangement suits him/her (probably him, males are more common than females...) while the single V. moorii and the 2 buescheri rule the 55. I figure in a few days the Hap's will have settled in, but if they're still not looking comfortable I'll rearrange the cover a bit. The petricola just carry on regardless, though they are more visible at feeding time now.

Lake Tang version 3.0

With the additional stock coming on Wednesday (9 more specimens), I needed to get some real caving/cornices/overhangs into the rock field. A few additional pieces of large holey rock and version 3 of the tank is now my absolute favorite. It has that feeling of being at depth under water. I also swapped out the T5 lamps and am now using the 18K flourescents only. This makes the tank look more blue in hue and helps with the deeper water feel:

You can see one of the new Neo. brichardi in this shot.

And the same Neo. brichardi hung out for the next shot. I just have the pair (both females I believe) but thus far, they are one of my favorite specimens.

Green tank vs. Blue tank: The drastic difference in appearance between the two tanks makes the room more interesting and is more appealing than the original version/lighting of the Tang tank (with the large piece of driftwood). People always seem to love my Asian tank but with the new stock , the Tang tank is fast becoming my personal favorite.
