hello to all here. has anybody ever used a maxi-jet powerhead, the lowest flow model, along with the prefilter sponge for added filtering and circulation? please advise.

I use the 1200 But not the lowest, It does a ok job

maxi-jets are great powerheads.....but dont expect it to do much as a filter.

thanks for the input frog, i'm basically using the powerhead for circulation, that it comes with a prefilter sponge will add some bio filtering and won't suck up ant fish. they are on sale at drsfostersmith. much cheaper than the aquaclear combos of powerhead and filter cartridge.
