My frogspawn is not looking its normal self most of it is not coming out and i donr know why. I have seen alot of new growth lately could this be why? i also just took out some stuff doing this sent lots off "stuff" frpm under the sand which clouded up my water alot (it still is somewhat cloudy but looking better) anyway i hope its not diesing my clows like to hide in it they as well as myself would be very sad

P.S. Also i dont know if this matters but i have had my tank for over a year and never changed the bulb in my lights for the tank. I heared that they stop working right after 6 months if this i what u think the problem could be tell me and i will run ou tto the fish shop today

Check your water parameters to make sure nothing is out of whack. If the frogspawn does not come out fully within a day or two something is wrong. When you stir up the sand and things fly around, it often throws particles into the water that various things will consume as food therefore they will retract but it shouldn't be for long.

As for your bulbs it depends on what type they are. I change mine once a year. Even if they look normal they have degraded over time. I would not think this would cause your frogspawn to close up like it is however you may want to change them soon anyways. Rumors are T5 bulbs last a little longer than a year but I have never owned them. A lot of time you will see more algae growth when they really start getting bad.
