Why would they be illegal? I had one hitchhike on a plant, and now I don't know what to DO with all of them. I pluck them out and put them in their own tank, because I don't want to kill them.

ok i checked the website there isn't a ban on on Maylasian Trumpet Snails, but there is one on the apple snail. apparently these guys have been causin alot of trouble lately......most of the info on snails had to do with having a permit when transporting them. also if u live in san marcus there is a pretty hefty fine if ur seen dumping your aquarium in the river, im pretty sure san antonio will be soon to follow. last thing.......Petco was sellin snails!!!
The APHIS rules on sale, importation and interstae transport of certain snail species are now being enforced, and there is some confusion amongst people, as might be expected. I do not believe that MTS are on the list, but may be...I do know that concerns over the spread of Pomacea canaculata have prohibited all apple snails except Pomacea bridgesii.
