These are the fish I now have. I need to find pictures of 2 other one's because some of the blue fish you have to be so careful because they can tend to look alike and be something completly different.

Are my fish ok for an all Mbuna tank. Thanks again

I know I've been asking alot of questions, but I had been giving wrong info from other lfs in the beginning and I'm just trying to get it right. Sorry

PROTOMELAS TAENIOLATUS RED EMPRESS
COPADICHROMIS RED FIN
LABIDOCHROMIS CAERULEUS (NKHATE BAY)
RUSTY
NIMBOCHROMIS VENUSTUS
MELANOCHROMIS MAINGANO
PSEUDOTROPHEUS ACEI
2 I didn't find a picture of
55 gallon tank

Thanks

In my opinion the Nimbochromis Venustus and Protomelas Taeniolatus should not be in a 55g when their adults. Mainly the Nimbochromis Venustus. The Rusty probably would'nt be able to hold its own against a fish like the Venustus. A couple of others u have may have the same trouble as the Rusty. Plus an adult Venustus needs more room, at least a 75g minimum. 1 or 2 others may need larger tank too. I would think that the Venustus may take out more agression because of this. But that's assuming their adults that are already good size. Thats just my opinion.

I agree with vanpudin.

I would think about getting your venustus another home as it can get close to 11" and the red empress which can grow to 9", eventually outgrowing the 55gal they're in. I'd also think twice about keeping chipokae in with your other fish as it can get extremely aggressive.

If you want an all Mbuna tank then the red empress and the venustus cichlid aren't compatible. They are not Mbuna. However, they are tough enough to hold their own in that tank and don't grow too fast so they should be ok if you would want to keep them for a while, but eventually the venustus will out grow a 55. Sorry, but your going to need an upgrade in the future.

Nimbochromis venustus grow fairly quickly when compared to the growth rate of most mbunas. The 55gal will be good for about a year or less, depending on how large it is now.

I think the empress would be ok with the less aggressive mbuna in a 55. The venustus I would return.
