Meat for my common Pleco

Hey guys,

I was wondering what meants should I give to my pleco? He's about 6 inches and I give him cucumber and zucchini but I read he should get meat too. I also feed him algae wafers everyday with the veggies and bloodworms for him and the other fish every other day.

Also should I be blanching the cucumbers and zucchini? If yes should I do them all at once or just blanch them when I'm going to use them cause I usually peel them and cut them in long strips.

What specific kind of pleco do you have?
 
I truly don't know, he was just referred to me as a common.

If it is a common, I don't think they eat a meaty diet....could be wrong.
 
pardon for asking, but how large is the tank anyway? From your pics im guessing its a 15g, but I could be wrong.........

on the topic of meat-eating plecos, my opal-dot plecos and gold nuggets enjoyed eating pieces of shrimp and live gouramis. However, the lone common never even touched the meat.
 
It's 55g.
