I've been looking through the snello recipes and got to thinking, do you guys suppose a meat version could be made for bottom dwellers like cories? Has anyone already tried this? Mine love freeze dried bloodworms and I saw that as one of the optional ingredients on the snello list..what other meats could be added for a cory snello?

Thanks all :)

Hey Juice, there are a few shrimp based recipes around the net... Loaches.com has a great one. Try googling "European shrimp mix" for a similar recipe.

I've tried doing this - snello with baby food & adding meaty fish food is so much easier! But my cories loved 'em all.

Awesome! I'm gonna check those out right now, Thanks fishy :)

They also have meaty flavored baby foods - although it depends on how you feel about feeding your cories mammal meat. Some combination of vegetables with either turkey, chicken or beef are all popular (many organic brands also, such as Earth's Best) and they do seem like they would have a strong attractant component.

That's another thing I was wondering, what about the meaty baby foods?
I know some people feed beef heart and I was thinking maybe putting some of that in there also. This would probably be used as a treat every now and again

I actually made some veggie snello and added blood worms and not only did my cories fight over it but my whisker shrimp took it away from them.

i make my snello with butternut squash and i crush up NLS into it (yep, my finkids are spoiled!). i don't have any briggs these days but due to a huge last batch of snello i've been feeding what's left to my fish. i guess the ramshorns get a bite or two, lol. the cories go nuts! they snuffle in it until they are practically covered! silly cories.......

meaty foods in there would work wonderfully i think. but no mammal meat. fish aren't meant to eat it.

try (from the San Fransisco Bay brand-frozen): bloodworms, spirulina brine shrimp, emerald entree. my fish go insane for these ones, and i've found them to be good quality.

put a touch of garlic juice in there too, skip the calcium, and add crushed up dry fish food as well. like i said, NLS works well, and it's a great quality pellet.
