Hello, my girlfriend has a common pleco on which she needs to treat with fungal and bacterial medications.

Has anyone ever used AP Plus + Medication such as their "Anti-Bacteria" Or "Anti-Fungal". She was wondering if these were safe to combine together??

Any insight to being able to combine these meds would be great. We have tried researching the medication maker's site, but cannot get their site to work. And there is no company phone number to call. :look:

I would be very cautious on combining ANY meds... I wouldn't recommend it, unless it is designed to work together. I don't know enough to predict how the meds may react togther, or what the effects (if any) would be on your fish or tank... :(

If necessary, use the one to treat your ailment as instructed. If this doesn't work it is ether a different ailment or the other med may have a different active ingredient (check the bottle and post that info back).

Do you know if he has a fungal or a bacterial infection? If not try this site (has images!) http://www.fishpalace.org/Disease.html#Worm

I know for sure you can combine Maroxy (antifungal) and Maracyn (antibiotic) with no ill effects from the combination. They are both made by Mardel. Generic Erythromycin is the main ingredient in Maracyn and can be substituted.

Yeah well we knew that the certain Mardel products could be combined and so this is why we were wondering if these could. But could not find much information about the medications from any where at all.

Here are the ingredients to both medications...

Anti-Bacteria Ingredients:
Formalin, Benzalkonium Chloride

Anti-Fungus Ingredients:
Malachite Green, Arciflavine Hydrochloride

* Also thank you for the webstie!! It's a great site! *
