unfortunatly my puffer didnt make it, but i dont believe that it is because of the melafix. I prob should have used it with Pimafix and done airation more. I followed the instructions, but it didnt say on the bottle about airating, i learned about that unfortunatly a lil too late.
I just tried it and so far after one dose it seems to be doing more harm. My fish are gasping, my neon tetras are losing their color and my danios are stressed out , swimming up and down the glass. Also my clown loach is staying in the cave and wont come out but in the morning to eat and then right back in. He use to eat several small feedings a day.
So right now I'm not convienced and put the carbon filter back in. Tomm. I will do a water change to get rid of it. I dont want to lose my fish. I even dosed lower than what they said to do.
I had to update this so that everyone isnt turned away from this product cause of me.
I tried this treatment again and the fish seemed better this time and it didnt hurt my tank either. I treated for 7days then done a water change and did it 7 more. They got better but when I stopped treatment it came back. I just needed something stronger like others was saying. But I didnt lose any fish and my neon is still bright and colorful also. Good luck
I'm a fan of MelaFix & Pimafix.
I suggest using in combo, to treat minor wounds & fin damage and as a secondary infection preventative.
I've never had a problem with it.
I only have two bettas in small tanks, but I think Melafix is a great product for tail rot, fin regrowth, and fungus. Each time I've used it for those problems, they've been cleared up quickly.
