Merry Christmas, You're all fired...

Well, they say it always make someone feel beter to hear that someone ELSE has it worse than they do. I'd take losing a job any day of the year over what I got for Christmas...

Found out a couple weeks ago that my mother is dying of cancer and might not even see Christmas.

Your situation suck, but take heart... Could be worse.
 
What an awful thing to happen.. and what timing. Jeez.

Best of luck to you in finding something worthwhile. It'll happen for you, eventually -- just hope you'll find a nice position as quickly as possible.

Try to have a nice holiday, anyway. There's always something else in our lives that bring us joy, even during the rough times.

I am so sorry to hear this. I hope you can spend a great deal of time with her and find joy while she is here.
 
So sorry to hear this zig. My husband spent 5 months looking for work this summer and he might be back at it again at the end of December. He's working a contract job that didn't get renewed. It sucks out there! Good luck finding something soon.

Nope. She's 6 hours away and didn't want to know if the prognosis ws fatal, so going there will burst the illusion that she might survive, so for her peace of mind I'm staying away and just waiting for news from my dad. She's sleeping about 23 hours a day he says. Wasn't meaning to highjack the thread though. Just pointing out that losing a job isn't as bad as some things can be.
