Metal Halide Question.

What would happen if I put a 200W bulb on a 400W ballast?

I would assume its like a FLO. bulb, that the balast controls the light, for example if you hook up a 40w FLO tube to a 80w balast it will over power the light and make it emmit more light, to what degree im not sure, and if its exactly the same way on a MH im not sure. Hope that helps, it may not do anything, it may blow the bulb, im just not sure.
