Metronidazole effect on inverts?

Well I got home and poor gourami was dead and the snails were eating her. :(

Not that I am aware of, but I'm thinking about treating all the fish. I was planning to add another gourami, so maybe I will get these meds before I pickup another 2 gouramis (guess I will get 2 now).

:( I feel like I did something wrong since they both died, but I do think it must have been IP. Not sure how they lasted so long with IP though?

you didn't do anything wrong. The stores just neglected them. Fish, and other animals, can live a loooong time with IP's, perhaps years. They'll exist in a kind of equilibrium or balance. It's when their immune systems gets weakened that the parasites really take hold and that they begin to get sick.

I think treating the other fish is not a bad idea. See if you can find yourself some GelTek and give everyone in that tank a pre-emptive treatment. I do that to all my quarantined new fish.
