micronutrient additives

I have read about solutions of such that are added with water changes. Any one use this type of product and with what success? also could you give the names and brands you use.

I have a moderatly planted tank and the fastest growers have yellowed new leaves and stunted growth. so I am looking for a solution to the problem
 
Some more information on your tank would be helpful... Like size of tank, amount of light, addition of CO2, test results for pH, kH, and nitrate..

As to micronutrients... I use Flourish and Flourish iron. The amount you will need to dose depends on your tank conditions. The problem you describe *could* be a macronutrient problem too.
 
I just put my tanks specs in the place for that. I have not gotten the link to it figgured out yet
 
You might not have enough lighting on your tank. What sort of lights are you using? Fluorescent?
I am also concerned about your fertillizing routine... what is it?

It looks like you have lower light but the apons and java moss should be ok with that. I don't know anything about the other plants you have listed. Are you presently using any fertilizer at all?
 
Kent Products

A liquid fertilizer that is very popular is Kent Flourish. I use it and AP Root Tabs underneath the plants.
 
I have not been fertilizing at all other than the food I feed the fish and whatever is added with the water changes. in the last couple of months I have added more plants so that I am guessing I have more plant mass than my current system will support with out other additions nutrient wise.

so even though I have had plants in the tank for more than a year now I am still a newbie on plants.

my ph is about 7.-7.2 I haven't check the tank or the tap in a while but the ph is stable during the winter rainy season here in southeastern Washington
 
a minimal fertilizing program as a contrast...

I use a half teaspoon of potassium chloride ("Nu-Salt") per six gallons in the fresh water at partial water changes. Fish provide N, feed provides P. Humic acids from peat etc. chelate trace elements already in my soft water.
