Mid Cycling #'s HELP

i didnt know any better, the fish lady at petsmart said i could add fish after 48hrs...no mention of cycling.

That seems to be the norm at most places.... They get more sales that way.... fish die...you buy more.... tests are all screwy so they sell you additives to fix it.... ect...ect.

Don't feel bad. This by no means is your fault. In fact you were following what almost ALL of us believed to be 'expect' advice...which was not and what led us here! :)

You'll be fine, just get ready to do a few WCs (don't forget the conditioner)!

no problem...thats what we are here for

mine started as my kids won 5 goldfish at the fair, then my neighbor gave me a 55 gal tank with most the asscories, I learned i did not want goldfish so i gave them to a friend with a goldfish pond, who also has a 55gal tank, so she gave me the black guppies

andi....

be sure to do a round of tests on your tap water also. It is good to know the status of what is in your replacement water. It is common for some water supplies to have ammonia, nitrtites and nitrates in them.

You should be using a dechlorinator that can handle chlorine and chloramine, and binds any ammonia in your replacement water into a non-toxic form. It won't hurt the fish, but allows it to be used by the bacteria. A very good one to use is Prime.

yes i tested mine it only has amm in it which suprised me
