Is the Midas Fish and the Red Devil the same species?

Here's one way to help tell the difference between the two.

A: Is the Amphilophus labiatus or Red Devil

B: Is the Amphilophus citrinellus or Midas cichlid

I do indeed have the midas cichlid.

If you got your fish from reputable breeder, then you know what you are getting. If you got it from LFS...chances are they are hybrid (red devil x midas).

I got it from the local Petsmart here.Itwas a 2.0 inch juvinile.Now it is 6.5 inches and it is starting to develop the nauchal hump.
