our LFS has a used 150G that has 1/2" glass. A big you know what. It doesnt have a stand so, I will have to build one. is a 150G a good permenit home for about 7-9 goldies. I have 6 now, but will hopefully be getting a fry when the grow out from FS, and looking to get a Wakin or Wontani.
good deal?

Sounds like a great deal to me! Have you built a big stand before? It's not too difficult, you just have to pay attention to how the weight is being transmitted (e.g. make sure the tank's weight is always directly supported by wood, not by fasteners).

He asked our neighbor if he would build it for us. He owns his own construction company, and I think he will do a good job. If not I know my dad would know because he is into wood working (always has been as I recall)

*DooSPX's better half*

I built a few stands from 2x4's and I have had no problems with them and the design is relatively simple. I could post some pics with the way I used the wood to support the weight and not the screws.

that would be a perfect tank for your goldfish i try and allow at least 15 - 20 gallons per fish in a tank.

well, we missed out on the 150G. I have my eye out for a 125 or 150 for our comets and fantail.

i hope so. i want a few more goldies... ;) btw, how is the midnight fry coming?
