so im totaly new to this site and i really dont know what im doing so i will say im sorry in advanced.

okay just set up a 29g with argonite sand becuz i wanted to get a gsp i had the tank set up with the filter and everthing to cycle...then noticed a crack...and then a leak....so i had to take everything out and get a new 29g.


so when i put the sand into the new 29 i had trouble with filling it and basically stirred all the sand up... and now i have milkshake water =(

its been 24hours and no improvement what so ever..... is this normal? should i do a water change? oh i have a hob filter with bio wheels.... please help!

Depending on how fine the sand is and how much circulation there is, I've seen tanks take 3 days before clearing. I wouldn't be too concerned at this point, since there's no livestock in the tank.
 
Agreed. It will take a few days, possibly up to a week, for the fine sand particles to eventually fall to the bottom.

Have patience and you will be rewarded. =)

well it also depends on how thoroughly the sand was washed prior to putting it in the tank... if it is clean (im assuming it is since it was in another tank) then it will clear up in a couple days

If it hasnt been washed then you may have to wait for it to clear out even longer.. and then filter it with a small micron filter to clean out remaining dirt
