Hi All, I'm new here, but not to "fish keeping". I have a 20 gal. long tank,(among others), with a Fuval canister 104, plus a Whisper 20 filter. I'm looking for a replacement for the Whisper, as there seems to be a lot of water flow in the tank. Don't want to bounce my neons out of the tank. I have looked at the Millennium 1000, 90 gal. per hour. Would that be an aceptable filter? The Fuval will stay on the tank. Does anyone have a Millennium? Is it dependable? quiet? Anyone have a better suggestion on a small filter, with a low water turn over?
Thanks, Anna

I have the Millenuim 3000 for my 30g and it does a great job. Relatively easy to clean and replacement cartidges are $2.50 and good for a month. It's pretty quiet too. I don't know if the 1000 model comes with the built in aerator, but it was a nice feature to have (recently got a pump so I don't use the aerator anymoe).

I have a Millennium on a 10 gallon in my bedroom. It is the quietest of all my filters and seems to do a good job. Water is crystal clear, the filter insert is pretty thick though and backflow can be pretty bad unless it gets cleaned routinely. All in all a good filter, I would buy one again.

Thanks, stoopid and cresschaef, for the replies. It has helped a lot. Think I will try the millennium filter. I liked what I read about it. I have Aqua Clears, Whispers, Fuval, and Penguin bio-wheel, but am looking for a good filter with low water flow.
Thanks again. Anna
