i'm setting up my pressurized system tomorrow. i'm just curious what i should set my ph setting at? anyone else have any advice for setting up and everyday use?
Your ph setting will depend on your kh level and the amount of CO2 you want in the water. I set my ph at 7.3 and have a 10 kh. It seems to get me close to the CO2 level I need for my plants and it keeps my snails' shells looking pretty good. At the end of the day, it all depends on what you are keeping in the tank.
I just set up my SMS122/MA957 system 3 weeks ago. My pH is currently set at 6.5 and yesterday the KH was 71.8. That gives me 38 ppm CO2. Plants are growing like mad and my angels are happy at that pH level. Lighting is a hair over 2 WPG for 12 hours, ferts daily. Charles
I think 38 ppm of CO2 is pretty high, and I am actually surprised that your Angels aren't having any problems at that level. Don't get me wrong, 38 ppm CO2 is great for the plants, but usually harmful for fish.
