Min. tank size for a zebra pleco?

There is really no pleco that can be kept in a 10gallon tank. Zebra's should really only be kept by people who have the desire, rescources, and knowledge to maintain the species. You should try your hand at some of the easier pleco species first to gain some knowledge in pleco care before you attempt a zebra.

Wherever your shopping at is ripping you off if your paying that much for those tanks. You mean 24g AquaPod?

Craigslist if your friend when it come to tanks hehehe.
It was a full marine setup:D
lol

Thanks...but I HAVE been researching them for a while, and my 10g tank is empty (except for a betta that is going in my 2.5g) ;)

they stay very small and if i did put them in a 10 gal it would only be him. but like i said 20 would be better. i do agree with the rest.

most breeders only sell to other people who are interested in breeding zebras, given their scarcity and (possibly) impending extinction. That said, there's a guy in MI who breeds them. I'll give you his contact info if you're interested. Just PM me. They've gone for $200+, though, in the past.

He breeds his in a 20L.

My suggestion would be to move out the betta, and start breeding some FW shrimp like cherry's or crystal reds, depending on your water conditions. By the end of summer, you can make enough cash selling them online to cover the zebra pleco and a larger tank to keep it in.
That's where I got the funds to buy a used 30 long setup (tank, stand, hood/light, etc.) and stock it with dwarf crayfish. Now I'm waiting for those to breed, still raising cherry's in the 10, and another species of shrimp and spixi snails in the 30 w/the crayfish.

:thud: GREAT IDEA!!!!!!! haha
i do have tons of baby and "teen" cherry shrimp...lol (but i know it will be a while before they are old enough...haha)
ill have to do some research on that:D thanks

haha, my mother shrimp (or another one...lol) just had more babies!!!!!!
I have TONS now..

You probably wont find many people who will sell you 1 true Zebra Plec. Most sell them in groups of 5 and only then to people who want to breed them to put a halt on humans eradicating them from the wild.
