jk, really You need a 70g, a 55g is pushing it just because of size, and bioload, cause they are slobs.

I think a 55 would work IF it wasn't only 12" deep. Since Oscars can get up to 16" it's better to go with a 75 gallon which is 18" deep.

my sister has a 3 inch oscar in a 20gal but I know that it will outgrow that quickly...I have a spare 46 bowfront in the garage that I am gonna give her...I guess taht will buy her some time. Im more into my reef tank so i really dont know too much about fw. thanks for the input.

I have heard 60 gallons per oscar is adequate.
