...Angelfish and Convict Cichlids?

Would I be able to do a single specimen of either in a ~25 gallon tank? (approximate dimensions: 24"Lx18"Wx13"H open topped)

Thanks for any advice,

Kieren

a 25gal high can comfortably house 2 angels, for a pair cons at least a 30, males can reach up to 6 inches

 If you're talking an already mated pair of 'Cons', I say yes. If not a single 'Con' will be fine w/ 1 or 2 other similar tempered fish. "T"

Thanks for the responses.

The tank is not high, so I guess angels are out. Would I be able to do just a single Convict? Or do they have to be in pairs?

how tall is the tank? * never mind..just re-read the original post*will it have substrate?

angels benefit with a deeper tank..that said..the altum angel would require about 18" above the substrate..domestic scalare(or scalare in general) can get by with 14-16" above the substrate) if you have leopoldi(aka dumerelii) you don't need that much.
if they are veils you may need a bit taller tank. than what is mentioned.
