i accidentally squished one of my fry with the net when i was trying to move them so i can clean their tank, but after i put the fry back in with the other frys it lay aimlessly in the water. i tried to get the fry out with my finger, and then it started moving again and now it seems fine, and i can't tell which one i accidentally squished. I hope its really ok as it looks

i feel like a bad fish mommy right now.

they poop too much, and i accidentally would scoop them up when scooping out the dirt, so i just take the fry out so i can just rinse the tank in dechlorinated water

i accidently squished a fry with my net too, when ym mollies had thier first batch. Unfortunately mine was not as lucky as yours! :p:

Do you mean accidentally vacuming them up when you are vacuming the tank? If so, try putting a thumb over the "bucket end" of the vac. that way if a fry gets sucked up, you can instantly stop suction and let him swim out. You can also stop suction and use the vac itself to shoo fry out of the way.

IMO you should really find a way to clean your fry tank without moving the fry, as this is far more stressful than a short trip up the gravle vac. Everytime a fish gets netted it's slime coat gets damaged, and it becomes vulnerable to infections and parasites. you'll also save yourself a ton of time.

I use the "Shooo" method describes above with my feeder guppy tank.

i never take em out, it will cause even more stress than its worth. I siphon out the bottom of the tank and then catch any fry that went in with it (in a large pipette or cup)(normally no more that 3), prepare new water and slowly and gently siphon that in down the side.

You are going to loose fry so dont feel too bad about it. No hatch is 100% successful.

i don't vacuum the tank, i just want fresher water in the tank so that they're not sitting in their own excrement for a week. i probably just stunned it when i accidentally hit it when i tried catching it with the net, i thought i squished it because I heard the "squishy" sound, but when my finger touched it, it started moving and joined the others...its been hours since the incident, but it still seems fine...i just hope it really is fine

You're still better off not moving the fry. And vacuuming is a good idea to remove debris.

my fry's tank is kinda the same way but i used marbles instead of gravel or bare bottom (so they could hide when they were smaller from their parents-who i moved out). now their poo is falling between the cracks along with plant debris and the snails are reproducing down there and eating all the fallen food. i have had 15 fry and haven't lost one so far-i'm hoping they will all make it to adult hood, they're about a little over a centimeter in 4-5 days. how big are your fry?
