Missing Cardinal Tetra

Got up this morning and am now missing my smallest Cardinal Tetra...

Is it possible that he passed away in the night and the other fish disposed of him?

Yes, fish are opportunistic. Fish that don't normally eat other fish will take advantage of an easy meal. It could also be that the fish is hiding somewhere in a decoration. Check around.

For the smaller MIA fish I usually check whether the snails aren't sitting on them...

Snails are about a 1/4" long so that not it and I searched around the tank as best I could without tearing it completely apart... Oh well, I was getting ready to pick up a few more anyways.

Take note that small fish will decompose faster than larger ones.

you may also have more snails than you think, since MTS will reproduce in the substrate.

The MTS have only been in the tank for about 10 days. Saw one of them last night on the glass and it was tiny! They were hitchhikers from when I picked up some Panda Cory's.

He could have jumped out of the tank. I had that happen before I put the top glass on for good.
