Missing oscar scales

This morning when I was feeding my fish I noticed that my larger oscar is missing some scales. I know that none of the other fish did this to him because hes the dominate one in the tank. I think he might have tried to fit between two rocks that were a little to close together. The only thing im concerned about is my oscar getting some type of infection. What should I be looking for? I do have a regular cleaning schedule 50% wc twice a week.

Do lots of water changes to prevent infection. My Oscar constantly bangs his head against the tank lid (it is now half wood, half thick glass) and usually has a scrape somewhere. Since I keep up with a keen schedule of WC's (couple of other big fish in the tank) he hasn't had any problems . .. .. .
If you are a believer in Melafix, you can add some until it's disappeared. . .. stuff works for me.

I just happen to have some lying around. It worked for my cons! Ill try that.
