I bought two halfbeaks that were labeled celebes halfbeak, which are fw. I got home and did some more research and found out mine are wrestling HBs, which some sites say they are brackish fish. Will they be able to live a long life in fw? I dont feel comfortable with them in my mudskipper tank, so i cant put them in a bw tank. :(
Thanks for any replies.

This is just my opinion..I would return them, tell them about the mislabel...I would feel too guilty keeping them where they didn't belong.

Ditto, Featherfin. Plain and simple advice.:)

AFI just had something about thses guys in one of their magazines, i remeber reading it...never read anything about being brackish though. they should be able to see where the sides of the tank are, because they will run right into the glass and will break their bottom jaws. keep only one male per 3 females or so to keep aggression at a minimum.

i have a male and female pair and they already started eating some fd krill. Have any of you ever kept wrestling halfbeaks in fw?

all the sites say found in both fresh and brackish bodies of water, but it is best to make the water sligtly brackish? so i may be ok??? i may get two a couple more females because they were only 1.99 each, if it is ok to keep them in fresh. Has anyone kept whb (wrestling halfbeaks)
