Mixing Gouramis Species

I have several different types of gouramis in m5 55 gallon, the only agression i have seen is from one of the pink kisers, he is the biggest of them all, and i think he just likes being a pain in the a**, but he does no hurt the other fish and usually both pinks and the 3 spots swim together

I have three male opalines I am moving to a 75G tonight. My original plan was to get 2 females for each to have a total of 9 opalines in the tank. After reading this post I am concerned that might not be the best plan for several reasons:

1. I do not want breeding going on,
2. Not sure I can easily find females,
3. It sounds like the aggression could increase with the addition of females.

Right now my 3 male opalines are in a 35G with tiger barbs and everyone gets along. The Male opalines chase each other a little bit, but no significant fighting. So now I am even more confused as to what to do:) It sounds like the answer fo rthe original poster is that you sort of have to try and mix and see what happens, sometimes it works out soemtimes it doesn't.
