I think its incredibly wrong that moderators on this forum EDIT other people's posts. I'll be the first to admit I can be a ****** and if a moderator wants to delete one of my posts or just to needs to feel important and use their powers, whatever... but editing what someone else says, thats just wrong.

Posts should be deleted if they break the rules - its not right to edit someone else's words though. That is just flat wrong.

I dont like it either but you have to play by their rules. Ive been warned, edited, and had posts deleted and to be honest im not that bothered by it because many of the mods here are extremely cool people and answer many of my posts when i have an aquaria related issue. So its all good.

Thing is this is a family forum that does include quite a few children. I see no problem with the mods editing, that is what a mod is for after all:) There are times that I have seen posts that contribute to the discussion but have some added content that doesn't bode so well within a family forum setting therefore making an edit necessary.

This'll be like darth vader, darth maul, luke, chewie, han solo, jaba, 200 droids, and 40 rebels in a phone booth.

Wow.

That has got to be the nerdiest thing I've ever typed in my whole life.

I think I'll go lay down now... :headshake2:

ON TOPIC

I think they have the right to edit posts.
I'd be crapped off if they deleted my posts, but if they edited it a little to where it's more age appropriate, I wouldn't mind as long as my overall meaning was conveyed, but not so distorted that my original intentions for posting the post were screwed.

You agreed to this when you signed up, I really dont understand the problem with it now..

Quote from number 5 of above link,

Aquaria Central reserves the right to edit, delete, or prune any and all Messages which, in its sole opinion, violates any of the terms and conditions of this Agreement, or is viewed in our judgment as inappropriate at the time of submittal or at anytime thereafter.

If you have a problem with a post you have made being edited, contact the mod that edited it and ask for further explanation. This is the best way to handle this situation.

I can't say I agree with all the times my posts have been edited, I suppose it was better for the sake of keeping it "family-friendly". Then again, I really don't see d-bag really being such a bad word.

LOL. If an individual has a problem with it (and maybe always had a problem with it), I think they should be able to ask for the policy to be revisited.
