i think having a post edited may be better than having it deleted all together.
Sometimes we arent aware that some words that are acceptable here may be offensive in other parts of the world. I also think that in most cases the OP knows their post is questionable, and sometimes might expect it to be deleted or modified.

I would also have to say that if a moderator changed a post in order to deliberately alter the meaning or the message conveyed within that post, I would find that un-acceptable.

Its not like they "edit" the post to make it sound like you said something you didnt... that would be wrong

they just remove swear words. and innapropriate comments... if you dont like it feel free to leave and/or dont post things that are against the rules

I have been a moderator on several forums (still am).. and if you had any idea the kind of childish non-sense mods have to deal with you would understand

I have NEVER seen a mod on THIS forum abuse his/her power-- the mods here are very good at what they do.. and I applaud them

If you have an issue with a moderator, PM a global moderator. If you have issues with a global moderator, PM neoprodigy.

If you feel your post was edited for reasons you don't understand, a moderator is always available to answer your queries promptly.

Then it would make perfect sense he should not blame the moderator for doing the right thing in the interest of other members. The staff here doesn't abuse its power. Unfortunately, we cannot appease everyone with our actions done just in line with the TOS.

This one is unfortunately difficult to avoid. Our perceptions globally vary based on accent and language usage. Should there be any misunderstanding, PM the moderator who edited your post so this issue can be resolved.

I think its incredibly wrong that moderators on this forum EDIT other people's posts. I'll be the first to admit I can be a ****** and if a moderator wants to delete one of my posts or just to needs to feel important and use their powers, whatever... but editing what someone else says, thats just wrong.

Posts should be deleted if they break the rules - its not right to edit someone else's words though. That is just flat wrong.

to be fair we really dont want to. the last thing we want to do is edit or delete posts. if you think it was unfair or wrong pm the mod and ask for more explaining. we will take the time to do so. most people would rather have a small edit then post deleted from my experience.
