Better safe than....

Sharon Packer, head of TACDA, asked us to share that "The president of The American Civil Defense Association has a Nukalert on her key chain."

Too bad the EMP from the initial blast would kill it...

My husband and my sister both wear radiation monitors when they are at work. What's the big deal for this one?

It's not common for ordinary people to get a dose of this 'stuff'...

:) Depends on the job. I was just wondering why the high price tag. Monitoring badges aren't that pricy, about $15 each, with the lab analysis another $20. What makes this worth ~$200, when the EMP would kill it before there was any detectable level of radiation? There are actually lots of areas where detectable levels of radiation of fairly common--read up on the initial searches for plutonium here in the States. Parts of the Rockies have always had enough background radiation to trigger a geiger.

You know the supply and demand. Yah well trash it. An item is worth as much as somebody will pay for it.
