That's good to know. I use the drip method to acclimate all of my fish anyway. I will probably take a longer time with the Molly since she'll be in the QT tank for a while anyway. Thanks for the info!

Mollies do fantastic in BW and SW; in FW, they are more fragile. As a matter of fact, i've heard that their disease rates drop by about 80% when in SW. also, they can breed in all types.

Alright, I just found my book that has instructions on converting mollies from FW to SW. They suggest using an air tube with a valve to drip SW into a container or bag that the mollies are in. They suggest dripping 1 drip per second into the bag or container. Once the bag/container fills up empty most of the water and continue. They say that it should take between 6-12 hours. Once "converted" to a fully marine environment, it has been noted that colours intensify and general disease resistance improves. Breeding possibilities remain unaffected. Also, it should be noted that not all species of molly are suitable for convertion to SW. Black hybrids and Hi-Fins are generally fine but true species are not. If in doubt, stick with the pure black hybrids.
a slow saltwater drip of about one drop per second until salinity is reached (around 10-12hrs) and they are ready. colors will intensify, immunity will be better and they eat some algaes. I only use blacks or sailfins. They are the only ones they will really survive.
