molted shrimp?

I purchased a skunk shrimp this weekend. Today his (or her) whole shell and antenna were on my powerhead. The shrimp looks fine hiding out near rock. I only have 1 fire fish, 2 clowns and 5 snails (37 gallon). Is he safe and when will he grow a shell back? This is all new to me.

The shell is there, that is why they are an invertebrate. If the shell wasn't there there wouldn't be a shrimp. It is however soft and will harden within the next day. Just let the shrimp do its thing and it should be OK as long as you don't have any natural predators in the tank.

Very normal and expect to see them molt on a regular basis.
