Mono Sabae?

These fish live in freshwater as juvies, then move to BW while they mature, and then to SW as adults. Beautiful Fish that need to be kept in groups of at least 3. They generally keep thier aggression to themselves, hence why it is so important to keep them in groups, it divides the aggression. Definately not a good tankmate for Discus!

Your fish are beautiful Gangstafish! I will try to get some pics of my biggest one to post

When discussing the size of this fish it's important to consider the height. I've seen some of these that were a foot tall but only 7" or 8" in length. I have four, almost 2 months old in a 20g brackish, soon to go in a 55g. Eventually they will need an even bigger tank. Right now they are about 2" tall. Since I got the Monos, they have been with a bunch of small flounders, the biggest flounder is about an inch long. The Monos haven't bothered the flounders one bit. No aggression toward them at all. The Monos do pick on each other quite a bit, which reinforces the idea of keeping them in schools. Like everyone says, they're not compatible with a Discus tank. This seems like a great opportunity to start a brackish tank! There are also many unique brackish tankmates to choose from like BumbleBee Gobies, Flounders, Puffers, Archers....
