Thanks for the info on my new tank mate. I can hardly wait until I get to see more of it's personality. I think that I may have heard a little purring noise from it today at feeding time. What kind of noises do they make and do they spit for any particular reason, or just to doit?

By the way, how's you mare doing?

I found my triggs make the grunting noises mainly when they are excited, feeding time, or annoyed. They will spit whenever it is feeding time. They spit because in the wild all their food hides under the sand for the day so they go and blow streams of water to the sand to uncover the prey items. But in captivity they know their food comes from the top so they do the same technique just the opposite to get food from their owners hand.

My mare is going to foal within the next 24-48. She is waxing and dripping colostrum. I will post pics in GCC when I take pics of the baby. I am so excited right now!
