Ok i am a fresh water person but i have a crazy friend that really whats me to get a salty tank.
There is no way in hell i am getting a reef, but what i would like to do is get a snowflake moray eel and a small lion fish in a three hundred liter tank.
And his plan is that it will cost me R2000 or $300 with every thing like live rock, fish power head but not the tank itself.
Would this work?

Please rember he is crazy

No matter how cheap you go you will not get away with less than 600. The tank seems a little small as is. The fish will live together provided space.

I thought so.
But with the eel eating the lion, how does work they have got all those nasty spikes on them?

I volitan is going to get 12 inches long. A moray will get about 30 inches. If the lion won't work I would go with a bursa trigger. They're full of personality and they're cheap abd easy to care for but you would seriously consider a larger tank if you do.

Go for it Foxy,
I have kept those fish together that you mentioned, since the early eighties, with no problems whatsoever, i have never witnessed, nor have i heard of a snowflake eating a volitan.
I have however had one of my adult Clown Triggers destroy a 13in Volitan, and also witnessed a Cornet fish devour one of my Volitans "WHOLE".
So, don,t worry to much about your choice of tank mates, come on over to the salty side and ENJOY!!
