Holly..and anyone else expecting...
We had a thread going with things to get for baby and I thought of something else
Those baby mattresses are made of plastic. I personally don't like to sleep on a thin sheet on top of plastic so I figured my baby shouldn't either. Those rubber sheets also hold in moisture. WHat I did was to go to the fabric store and buy a couple of yards of terrycloth and made mattress pads for the crib. Just zigzag stitched across the ends to keep them from fraying. I would put down a rubber sheet, then the terrycloth "mattress pad" and then put the sheet on. If I ran out..in a pinch I'd use a beach towel, but they were a little thinner.
