He died...

Do I have to do a 100% water change to the tank?

:( I just don't get it. He was so healthy, I have no idea what was wrong.

Test your water params, if amm/nitrite/nitrate seem high, do a water change. I wouldn't do 100%.

Only do a regular water change... 100% is not necessary. Sometimes betas just don't live very long. Often times, the reason is the way they are shipped (it is horrible). If your other fish is doing fine, and your tank has been running for some time, I would have to say that it is simply old age, or just a premature death from shipping stress.

Someone else might pipe in on this, but you could probably go out and buy another one if your still interested, or take down your divider, and go get 5 or 6 neons, to liven the tank up!

you can keep beta's in with other community fish usually, as long as it isn't another fish with long flowing fins, or a labrynth organ...

(neons also aren't nippy after betas fins usually...)

Yeah, I don't know if I'm going to get another betta right away. I think my other one is enjoying the space too much for me to divide again.

Thanks for the suggestions :)
