More cycling thoughts
Ok Im going to go ahead and cycle my 75 and 55 seperatly but while reading up on cycling I came across that the bacteria that converts nitrite to nitrate takes longer to establish that the ammonia converting bacteria. Could a cause of this be that the ammonia converting bacteria has taken up room on all of the surface area leaving the nitrite converters little room to establish? Would it be useful to take one of the two sponges out of my AquaClears and put them back in once I notice an ammonia level droppage? Just trying to get this cycle to move along as quickly and effectively as possible.
