Yes indeed, and the fact that most people use the generic term cichlasoma in most cases when they forget the actual genus the species belongs too. Such in Jack dempseys for example. They are archocentrus octofasciatum, but it is common to see them listed as cichlasoma , or nandopsis octofasciatum. Same goes for just about all cichlids. Taxonomy is a PITA some times.
