More problems - Help please!! Urgent!!

i would just clean it up and re seal the glass just to be on the safe side . just take your time when u re silicone it , make sure u clean it up really well and u will be fish

I already resealed the whole tank. Or are you just talking the bracing? I will be trying that next. I also called around for glass prices and the local glass shop can get me 1/4" thick glass for $3.25 per piece (3" x 18"). But is that thick enough? They don't do any thicker in-house, but can special order 3/8" thick for me for $20/piece. Both of those seem reasonable to me, but I don't know what I should use. Anyone with experience have thoughts? Is 1/4" sufficient for eurobracing along the side of the tank? (i.e. this would go front to back and attach to the side as well on each end of the tank) - it would also be useful for sitting lights/lids on, I would imagine. I'm probably also going to see (if I choose to keep the tank) about having them cut me some glass lids because there are no lids for this tank.

Also, if do eurobrace it, is regular silicone appropriate? Or should I be using something else? Epoxy? Something other than that?

Please chime in with your euro-bracing experience because I have no clue.

getting the double pane of glass to be well siliconed would be a PITA . i would just gt with the 1/4 , you are after all just doing this for extra security

I wouldn't use anything less than the thickness of the tank glass when making replacement braces. I actually would have just purchased the correct size replacement top and bottom trim though I know that does not help you at this point in time.

Used tanks are always a gamble, so I always remove ALLl the interior silicone and replace with new.

This is not replacement bracing. This is additional bracing. And I did remove all silicone and re-do all the seals inside. What I didn't do was the center brace because the re-seal job was for leak prevention. Anyway, I want to add additional bracing to the tank and am wondering what thickness of glass I need for that.
