Most beautiful fish.

My new favorite is the Boeseman's Rainbowfish....get them young...the changes as they come into their adult coloration is amazing

Discus are at the top of the list..there are so many colors and some 'velvet' are intense reds.

Angels(particularly wilds) either Altums or Peruvian Scalare..mine have blue crests similar to the blue on discus when in mating season.

Blue rams

Geos..some of those are amazing colors.

Pearl gouramis

Apistos.

I'll 2nd the Pearl Gourami. I have one that is fully colored up now and he is awesomely beautiful. I also picked up a Krib today and now that I see him under my lighting he's a great looking fish! German Blue Rams are great too.

well id have to echo just about what everyone else is saying.

angelfish
German blue ram
apistos, the variety and color variations of these fish boggles my mind, the only problem, for me at least, is they seem to be impossible to find locally.
I have a pretty great looking dwarf gourami, the fires, honeys and sunsets are quite pretty also.

wow, thanks guys. I just picked up my 44gal long today. As far as decorations im looking for some driftwood now, as well as some rocks, maybe some slate. Im going with fake plants for now as i am inexperienced. I definelty want sand on the bottom. Any other suggestions on decs that might be compatible with some of the fish you all recommended? I will definetly have to check out some blue rams at the tropical fish store. As far as discus, the owner of the store already warned me that im probably not ready for them yet.
