Aww,,come on---Earth Eaters!!!!!!
Colors, personality, decent size. Google!
Think outside the bread and butter fish! (Rainbows are gorgeous, but a pain in the b*** if you have other flowing fin fish)
Y'all are crazy, The most beautiful FW fish - DISCUS!!!! Like a red scorpion snakeskin or any leopard...do a search for them...just as colorful as killies but more patterned, more vibrant...saltwater coloring in a freshwater tank.
No. not salt water. For the experienced keeper though.
I might suggest you go all south american. Keep the silver dollars and the tetras and loose everthing else. To that I would add alike 10 congo or black tetras and 1 firemouth cichlid and 1 blue acara. As long as you don't get a pair of cichlids there ought not to be to much of a problem. Then you would have all levels of the tank filled. The silver dollars stay in the middle, the tertas are middle to upper and the cichlids will stay near the bottom. Get lots of cover, fake plants and a walnut colored gravel base.

After years of mbuna tanks I won't go back. The fish are beautiful but the relaxation factor is very low as they are always fighting, chasing, digging, or killing. I now have the set-up listed in my sig and I can sit for hours watching the tank, it is SOOOO much more peaceful and colorful.
So I am biased, plant it and put some discus, tetras, corys, etc. it there. :dance
I like the ocars im seeing, and the severum, the paradise, and of course the Blue Aracas. Man this is just what i was hoping for, you guys have given me a lot of choices plus a lot of research. Thanx, keep em coming.
These aren't the only ones i liked, i saw some cool killifish, and discus is probable, ahhhhh! so many fish, so few gallons....
