Stop a allowing your boyfriend, or anyone to just buy fish and put them in. Conversely, just because someone shows up at your door with a bag of fish doesn't mean you're oblibated to take them.

I just got the rams in my other tank last week and I am really happy with them though I worry about their sensitivities.

I have Rams as well. They are fairly sensative. You need to keep their nitrates at a low level, because they do not tolerate them as well as other fish do. Try to keep them under 20 ppm.

I also just was on another thread and they brought up another dwarf cichlid, apistos. Beautiful fish and maybe something you might want to google and take a look at. Beautiful and Peaceful.
