Most easy fish to breed

Endlers are a good bet. They are small but give birth to relatively large fry. And I have never seen an adult eat the fry in my tanks.
The one gallon sounds a bit small for breeding any fish but the 10 gallon would hold lots of Endlers. You could start out with just one or two males and two to four females or you could put in several pairs if you really want to get things going in a hurry.
Java moss is helpfull as it provides cover and a food source for the fry. Other than that just add water and wait for the population explosion.

ok I guess I'll go with a few fancy guppies or endlers in the 10 gal. What should I do with filtration. I want to keep this somewhat of an economical project. It's going to be heavily planted, so there will be a hint of natural filtration. would 2 sponge filters connected to an air-pump be good?

umm.. do u mean 'breed' as in it will take some effort, or just stick fish in a tank and have babies?
so it's pretty much a fact that guppies will produce the most amount of food for my cichlids in the shortest amount of time?
I'll do standard tank maintanence like water changes, but i'm not going to go out of my way to make sure all of the fry will survive since their going to be food anyway. I will also use the java moss for cover.
yeah I'd like to go with plattys or mollies but I don't think they'll do good in a 10 gal. I have no room too set up my old 37 gal, so I guess I'm going guppies.
