Most effective aquatic scavenger?

I have to say that I'm pleased with the job my cories do. I also have otos that take care of the algae. Between the two of them, my tank is very tidy! My cories forage constantly for schmutz in the gravel but I also give them shrimp pellets to make sure they get enough. I don't really know about waste output as they are in a community tank and it's hard to tell. My dwarf gouramis (male powder blue and female flame) keep the dead plant matter cleaned up. I haven't had to pick out a dead leaf since I put them in there!
Before I got my otos, I had a lot of algae going on in my 20gal. I added 3 otos and within a day or so, no more algae! I also give them veggies occasionally.
Cories and otos stay small too. I plan to add cories and otos to my 16gal when it's cycled (fishless of course).

They are also very peaceful.
