What are some of the most reliable heaters that you guys have ever owned? I heard that Pro heat and ebo jagers are good. Im planning on getting a Pro-heat 350watt II digital heater for my 240. Id get a 500w one if they had one with the digital temp. displays.

I had a Marineland dual temp heater explode on me today. Rather neat.

Ive always liked both the Ebo Jagers, and the Tronics, though the tronics dont seem to be sold in as many places as they used to be.

If I ever use a larger tank or a tank with tankbusters, I will start using the titanium heaters with the remote temp sensor.

I really like my Ebo-Jager - the temperature control doesn't slide, it clicks into place, so you know exactly what temperature you're setting it for. I've never had any problems with it, and I like that the glass used to make the heater is twice as thick as that of cheaper brands (at least, that's what it said on the box).

ebos are heavier duty than the rest of the glass ones. only had one fail on me didnt really fail just wasnt as accurate as i wanted it to be so i shipped it back for a replacement and they handled it great.

I vote for ebos or some kind of titanium heater.
I plan on getting a titanium heater for my next tank.

I had one of those(titanium) on my 29 tall when it was a QT and the suction cup came off the out side while I was at work and COOKED  my 1" oscar. I now have Ebo's on all of my tanks.

While ebo's and tronics (if they are still around) tend to be the most highly recomended, I have never had a visi-therm fail me and have been using them for about 12 years. I own 16 of them right now, 6 of which are over 8 years old. They are not all currently in service, only 7 are at the time, but they will be as the other tanks get set again this winter. I did explode one when I plugged it in while it was out of the water and then put it in the water (don't even ask how that happened it was a bonehead move) I have had them get hot when they were inadvertantly turned on while out of the water, but as long as I let them cool first they show no side effects when put back in service. If my Visi-therms ever do fail me I'll probably switch to EBO's, but for now I am quite happy using the extra cash for other things.

The Ebbo's are great for a glass heater. These days I only get the titanium heaters. If you go with a titanium heater get the pro heat ones made by WON. All of the other titanium heaters I have tried are pretty much junk IMO.

I've recently switched all my heaters to WON Pro-Heat titanium heaters.
Before these all I would use where Ebo Jagers or Visi-Therm.
